Open Tabs #005: Frolicking, Forecasting, and Phil Hellmuth
Nature healed. Innerbloom played. Phil tilted. Tabs opened.
We Back 🫡
Back at it with another issue of Open Tabs. Still dialing things in, still finding the groove—but man, I’m loving this process. Curating chaos and turning it into content? Count me in.
Let’s go!

🔸 Dunkin’ for Freedom
A hero proposes retracing Paul Revere’s exact ride… but with Dunkin’ Donuts stops the whole way. Naturally, he plotted it all on a map—for those who love caffeine and liberty.
Freedom and donuts. This is the America I believe in.
It's the 250th anniversary of the midnight ride of Paul Revere. I've mapped all seven Dunkin Donuts locations Paul could've stopped at on his route

🔸 Wild Horses Be Frolicking
A helicopter gliding over some lush terrain spots a whole herd (yes, a herd—thanks Google) of wild horses galloping through water. You rarely get to capture this in the wild. Pure cinema. Shoutout to the helicopter cam operator for going full National Geographic.
🔸This Interview Will Break Your Brain
I can’t get over this one. It took over my feed on Monday and Tuesday with the classic “you’ll never guess where this goes” setup. And yeah—it delivers. They speak in near-perfect harmony like some kind of chill Aussie version of the The Shining twins. And I found it somehow calming? I don’t know, just watch it.
@7newsq Witnesses are recounting the mayhem that unfolded on the Sunshine Coast. Two sisters have told of how their mother and a man raced to help... See more

🔸 The TPS Report Reunion Tour
A tweet dropped showing photos of the Office Space cast then and now and blending them together using AI. Somehow they all aged perfectly. Even Milton. And looking back at this cast? Absolutely goated.
This is kinda cool. At least to someone that loved Office Space.

🔸 Zach Woods: Sandwich Shake Enthusiast
A TikTok popped up of Zach Woods breaking down TJ Miller’s in-the-moment recall on Silicon Valley. I love when experts nerd out on their own craft.
And fun fact: I met Zach Woods once in LA. When I went in for a handshake, he put one hand under mine, one over it, and just... held it. Like he was blessing the Pope (RIP).
Easily the best and most awkward handshake of my life.

🔸 Oscar Voters Forgot to Watch??
Apparently some Oscar voters didn’t see the movies they voted on.
We knew this stuff happened… but hearing it confirmed? Wild. If you’re voting for the Oscars, maybe start with watching the movies. Classic Hollywood.
The Academy is now implementing a new rule that members must now watch all nominated films in each category to be eligible to vote in the final round for the Oscars.

🎶 IS IT A BANGER??
Yes. Yes, it absolutely, positively is. Innerbloom by RÜFÜS DU SOL is one of my favorite songs—ever. I even said so back in June 2019:
Innerbloom is the best song of this decade. What a masterpiece. Nine minutes of bliss.

It got some likes but ultimately the timeline shrugged it off. But now? Innerbloom is in rarified air. Festival closer. Chill reset. Emotional cleanse.
I was at a pool party recently and the DJ tried remixing it with Sean Paul’s Gimme Tha Light. No shade to Sean—but Innerbloom deserves to be handled with care. If you remix it, you better do it right but probably best to leave the masterpiece as is. Sacred ground.
đź’¸ CRYPTO CORNER
Considering how deeply entrenched I am in the crypto and web 3 world, I figured there should be a periodic segment on it. So here’s a few projects I wanted to highlight that I believe in:
👨🏻‍💻 Metaverse HQ (MVHQ)

An alpha group I’ve been in for years—originated in the NBA Top Shot days.
Now they cover everything Web3, and the Discord is loaded with alpha.
Access runs ~$400/year and it’s 100% worth it if you’re deep in the space.
They’re minting 2025 memberships in May—keep an eye out.

đź’… Chipped Social

Press-on nails with built-in NFC chips. Tap someone’s phone and share your socials instantly. Like a QR code, but way more fashion-forward. I’m definitely getting my (nonexistent) girlfriend these.
Here’s a quick vid on how it works. Cool tech!
A social app for collecting digital art.
They recently pivoted from crypto to USD, making it way more accessible.
You can scroll, find sick artwork, and collect pieces for as little as 25 cents.
Clean UI. Great vibes. I’m a fan.

đź”® AGGRESSIVE CALL #004
Alright, let’s get meta.
A lot of you know the phrase Aggressive Call. Some of you even say it back to me now.
But I figured it’s time to give it some proper context—because it all started with one moment at the 2008 World Series of Poker.
We’re deep in the $10K Main Event with over 7,000 entrants and $8 million for first.
On Day 4, I check the seat draw—I'm at a table with Phil Hellmuth and Jean-Robert Bellande. Lights. Cameras. ESPN feature table. Showtime. Sure enough this was the case.
I remember the day vividly. Before the cards are even dealt, I tell myself:
"Adam, remember—television isn’t about who you are. It’s about who you’ll be perceived as."
That mindset stuck with me all day.
The table starts off pretty jovial and everyone, including, Phil, is in good spirits. Then about an hour and a half into play this hand comes up and well, I’ll just let the hand do the talking:
Here’s the kicker—I didn’t even invent the phrase. Vanessa Rousso said it years earlier, and I just remembered it. But saying it right then? That moment? That’s next level. You can see Phil calming down from losing the hand and he gets WHITE HOT with anger after I say it. Perfection.
To this day, I’m still known as the “Aggressive Call” guy.
That hand got ranked #13 in the Top 100 Poker Hands of All Time recently and that’s pretty damn cool!
This segment is where the ethos of that hand lives on. If you’ve got an Aggressive Call of your own, hit me with it. Let’s keep this energy going.
That’s a wrap on this week’s Open Tabs.
Appreciate you scrolling with me—every issue’s an experiment, and I’m having a blast figuring it out. If you liked something, hated something, or have a link that deserves a spotlight, hit reply and let me know.
We out! ✌️
